Crumpet | Hypo Golden Albino Unsexed Axolotl
Meet Crumpet, the golden little ray of sunshine who can look deeply underfed approximately three minutes after finishing dinner.
Crumpet is a beautiful hypo golden albino axolotl measuring approximately 18 cm long. Crumpet is currently unsexed, although their body shape suggests they may develop into a female as they mature.
Because axolotls mature at different rates, Crumpet is honestly listed as a possible female rather than making promises their cloaca has not officially approved.
Their soft golden colouring, pale features and sweet expression make Crumpet a charming addition to a properly prepared axolotl aquarium.

What Is a Hypo Golden Albino Axolotl?
Golden albino axolotls display warm yellow, cream and golden pigmentation with the lighter eyes associated with albinism.
The term hypo refers to reduced pigmentation, which can give Crumpet a softer and more delicate golden appearance.
Their colouring may appear slightly different depending on aquarium lighting, camera settings and individual screens.
Understanding Crumpet’s Unconfirmed Sex
Crumpet currently appears likely to develop into a female, but their sex is not guaranteed.
Axolotls mature at different rates, and sex may become clearer as Crumpet continues to grow.
Customers should choose Crumpet because they love their individual appearance and personality rather than relying on a particular sex.
Crumpet may not have completed the paperwork, but they have already appointed themselves chief household snack inspector.
Crumpet’s Aquarium Requirements
Crumpet requires a spacious, fully cycled, cool-water freshwater aquarium with stable water conditions.
Their aquarium should maintain:
- Ammonia: 0 ppm
- Nitrite: 0 ppm
- Nitrate: kept low through regular testing and water changes
- Cool, clean and properly dechlorinated water
- Gentle filtration with minimal current
- Smooth hides and axolotl-safe décor
- No gravel or small stones that could be swallowed
- Quality earthworms or suitable premium axolotl food
Axolotls must never be placed into an uncycled aquarium. Little Lotl’s will ask questions about your setup before finalising the sale to help ensure Crumpet is moving into a safe and suitable home.
Individually Photographed in Australia
Every Little Lotl’s axolotl is individually photographed and listed. The axolotl shown in Crumpet’s photographs is the exact axolotl you will receive.
Photographs are taken in natural lighting wherever possible to represent Crumpet’s colouring accurately. Additional photographs or videos can be provided upon request.

Recommended Add-On Products
Support the beneficial bacteria responsible for processing aquarium waste with Little Lotl’s Axolotl Cycle Right.
This axolotl-specific water-care product can assist with establishing and supporting biological filtration. Always test the aquarium and confirm ammonia and nitrite are both 0 ppm before introducing Crumpet.
Crumpet is happy to supervise the cycle but refuses to complete the water tests personally.
Amazon Sword Live Aquarium Plant
Add natural greenery, shelter and texture to Crumpet’s aquarium with an Amazon Sword.
Its broad leaves can create shaded areas and places to explore while helping the aquarium feel more natural. Position the plant securely and ensure it does not reduce the floor space Crumpet needs.
Crumpet will inspect every leaf before selecting one as the official waiting-for-dinner location.
Shipping, Holding and Delivery

Still cycling your aquarium? Crumpet can be purchased and reserved until their home is ready. A holding fee of $5 per week applies and must be paid before dispatch.
Shipping, holding, redelivery and additional-zone charges are separate from the listed purchase price.
