What Is a Copper Axolotl?
Copper axolotls display warm brown, caramel, bronze and copper-toned pigmentation. Their colouring can include darker freckles, pale features and softly contrasting markings.
Gidget’s rich natural tones may appear slightly different under various aquarium lights, allowing him to coordinate beautifully with his surroundings without admitting he planned it.
Gidget’s Aquarium Requirements
Gidget requires a spacious, fully cycled, cool-water freshwater aquarium with stable water conditions and plenty of usable floor space.
His aquarium should maintain:
- Ammonia: 0 ppm
- Nitrite: 0 ppm
- Low nitrate maintained through testing and water changes
- Cool, clean and properly dechlorinated water
- Gentle filtration with minimal current
- Smooth hides and axolotl-safe décor
- No gravel or small stones that could be swallowed
- Quality earthworms or suitable premium axolotl food
Axolotls must never be placed into an uncycled aquarium. Little Lotl’s will ask questions about your setup before finalising the sale to help ensure Gidget is moving into a safe and suitable home.

Photographs are taken in natural lighting wherever possible to represent his colouring accurately.
Colours may still vary slightly depending on aquarium lighting, camera settings and individual screens.

Give Gidget an elevated place to rest, lounge and supervise the aquarium from a suitably important position.
The breathable mesh hammock attaches to the aquarium with suction cups and provides an additional resting area without taking up valuable floor space.
Position it securely at a comfortable height where Gidget can climb on and off easily. Check the suction cups regularly to ensure the hammock remains firmly attached.

The kit measures General Hardness and Carbonate Hardness, helping you monitor conditions that influence mineral availability and pH stability.
Apparently Gidget is happy to supervise testing but remains unwilling to count the drops.
Shipping, Holding and Delivery
Live axolotls are shipped on Mondays, subject to suitable weather conditions and public holidays.
Standard live-axolotl shipping is $50 within Australia Post Express Post Zones 1–3 for up to three axolotls.
Addresses outside these zones may incur additional charges. Little Lotl’s will confirm any extra cost before dispatch, and all outstanding charges must be paid before shipping.
Someone must be available to receive Gidget on the expected delivery day. If delivery is unsuccessful and redelivery is required, a $35 redelivery fee will apply.
Still cycling your aquarium? Gidget can be purchased and reserved until his home is ready. A holding fee of $5 per week applies and must be paid before dispatch.
Shipping, holding, redelivery and additional-zone charges are separate from the purchase price.
