What Is a Light Copper Axolotl?
Copper axolotls can display warm bronze, caramel, peach, cinnamon and chocolate tones.
 
Light copper axolotls have softer, paler pigmentation, creating delicate peach and sandy bronze shades. Lewis’s colouring looks particularly beautiful alongside natural plants, smooth river rocks and dark axolotl-safe hides.
 
He looks refined and dignified, despite occasionally parking himself in the least elegant position imaginable.
 
Lewis’s Healing Tail
 
Lewis currently has a small section missing from his tail, as shown in the listing photographs.
The area is already healing and is expected to continue regenerating. Axolotls are well known for their impressive ability to regrow damaged tissue, including portions of the tail.
 
Lewis is otherwise healthy, active and behaving normally. His healing tail has not affected his appetite, personality or self-appointed role as aquarium management.

Lewis’s Aquarium Requirements
 
Lewis requires a fully cycled, cool-water freshwater aquarium with stable water conditions and generous floor space.
 
His aquarium should maintain:
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: kept low through regular testing and water changes
Cool, clean and properly dechlorinated water
Gentle filtration with minimal current
Smooth hides and axolotl-safe décor
Low or subdued lighting
Quality earthworms or suitable premium axolotl food
 
Because Lewis is approximately 28 cm long, his aquarium must allow him to move, turn and explore comfortably. Hides and decorations should also be large enough for him to use safely.
 
Axolotls must never be placed into an uncycled or incorrectly cycled aquarium. Little Lotl’s will ask about your setup before finalising the sale to help ensure Lewis is moving into a safe home.

Live axolotls are shipped on Mondays, subject to suitable weather conditions and public holidays.
Standard live-axolotl shipping is $50 within Australia Post Express Post Zones 1–3.
 
Addresses outside Zones 1–3 may incur additional shipping charges. Little Lotl’s will confirm any extra cost before dispatch.
 
Please ensure someone is available to receive Lewis on the expected delivery day. If redelivery is required, a $35 redelivery fee will apply.
 
Still preparing or cycling your aquarium? Lewis can be reserved until his new home is ready. A holding fee of $5 per week applies and must be paid before dispatch.
