The cabinet is supplied flat-packed and provides a sturdy, tidy base for your aquarium while helping keep equipment and supplies neatly tucked away.
Is a 3ft Tank Suitable for an Axolotl?
Yes. A 3ft, 220-litre aquarium provides generous floor space and water volume, helping create a more stable and comfortable environment for an axolotl.
Axolotls spend most of their time exploring the bottom of their aquarium, so floor space matters. The larger water volume can also make water conditions easier to maintain than in a smaller tank, provided the aquarium is correctly cycled, tested and maintained.
Is the Aquarium Already Cycled?
The canister filter may be supplied pre-cycled; however, the complete aquarium must still be allowed to establish properly before an axolotl is introduced.
A full fishless aquarium cycle generally takes approximately four to six weeks. Cycling allows beneficial bacteria to develop so they can safely process ammonia and nitrite.
Your axolotl should not be placed into the aquarium until testing confirms:
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: within a safe and manageable range
The included Cycle Right and Bacta Boost products help support the cycling process, but patience remains one of the most important pieces of aquarium equipment. Sadly, it still does not come in a bottle.
