Goldie’s Personality

Goldie is confident, curious and enjoys cruising around his aquarium before parking himself at the front whenever dinner appears remotely possible.

He has mastered the art of looking majestic while simultaneously behaving as though nobody has fed him since prehistoric times.

Behaviour may change as an axolotl settles into a new environment, but our observations help you get to know the individual animal you are choosing.

What Makes Goldie Special?

Golden Albino axolotls have warm yellow or golden pigmentation combined with albino characteristics, creating colouring that can range from pale buttery yellow through to rich gold.

Goldie’s vibrant colouring, large adult size and flowing external gills give him an especially striking appearance.

Colour may vary slightly depending on aquarium lighting, photography and screen settings.

Preparing for Goldie

As a large adult, Goldie requires a spacious, fully cycled, cool-water aquarium with:

Temperature: 14–18°C
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: Ideally below 20 ppm
pH: 7.2–8.2
Clean, properly dechlorinated water
Gentle filtration with minimal current
Smooth hides and axolotl-safe décor
Low lighting
Generous usable floor space
An appropriate axolotl diet

At approximately 25 cm, Goldie needs enough room to move, turn and explore comfortably.

Little Lotl’s may ask about your setup before finalising the sale to help ensure Goldie is moving into a suitable home.
